With this session we’re paying tribute to hip-hop from the 80’s by using the sounds of one of the most popular drum machines of that era: the Oberheim DMX.

Released in 1981, it was the second drum machine to use digital samples and was featured on timeless songs such as Sucker MCs by Run-DMC, The Message by Grandmaster Flash, Rockit by Herbie Hancock, Children’s Story by Slick Rick, and many more in other genres of music as well.

We invited our friends to join us in honoring these classic sounds - everyone was required to use the Oberheim drum sounds as their main drum kit. Enjoy!
